Job Summary Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer to support Launchers and Weapons programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with design engineers, test engineers, field technicians, and representatives from Manufacturing, Quality, Design, and other engineering disciplines on programs that require equipment and hardware testing to MIL-STD-810H, MIL-S-901D, and MIL-STD-167-1 or 1A standards.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, test, and evaluate launcher and weapons system components.
Apply technical problem‑solving skills and manage significant tasks from concept through completion.
Document and present results to stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Test and hardware experience.
Ability to take ownership for significant tasks, complete them on schedule, and document/present the results.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills
Experience with MIL-STD-810H, MIL-S-901D, and MIL-STD-167-1 or 1A.
Finite element analysis and mechanical analysis.
Ability to work with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.
Self‑starter willing to seek assignments and guidance.
Attention to detail for test setups and test events.
Effective teamwork and cooperative working with peers and seniors.
Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance; clearance level: Secret.
Benefits and Compensation The base range for this position in New Jersey is $75,000 - $135,961. Benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid Time Off, and Holidays. The wage range and benefits summary is a general guideline and is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
Work Schedule and Location Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Part‑time remote telework is possible; the employee will work part of their schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
