Role Description The Environmental Compliance Data Analyst is a hybrid role responsible for collecting, validating, and analyzing environmental and operational data from monitoring systems and internal databases. We are looking for an analytical problem-solver with a microscopic focus on numbers and dates to ensure all datasets are legally sound, accurate, and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Reporting:
Produce comprehensive, EPA Title V permit-compliant air emissions and compliance reports.
Technical Writing:
Translate technical data anomalies into articulate, professional prose capable of withstanding strict regulatory scrutiny.
Data Management:
Build and maintain data models, complex file directories, and dashboards to support recurring and ad hoc regulatory submissions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with engineering, testing, and project management teams to turn technical data into actionable insights.
Qualifications
Data Literacy & Computer Skills:
High level of comfort navigating databases, file management systems (FTP, cloud storage, directory structures), and large datasets to recognize patterns or outliers. Strong proficiency in MS Excel is required.
Critical Thinking:
A problem-solving mindset capable of diagnosing why a dataset looks incorrect and determining how to investigate and correct it legally.
Attention to Detail:
An exacting focus on numbers and dates, understanding that a single misplaced digit impacts regulatory compliance.
Communication:
Strong technical writing and verbal skills to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). No advanced programming degree required.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with environmental regulations or
CEMS/DAHS software
is a major plus. We are entirely willing to train the right tech‑savvy individual.
