Maintenance – Full Time – Niles, Ohio, United States. Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Mobile Technicians. The Sr Mobile Technician is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B.Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment at customer sites or rail yards using a mobile service truck. Technicians must troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes while ensuring units meet J.B.Hunt's specifications. Key Responsibilities
Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks including tire replacements or flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment. Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment, such as refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment. Mentor new technician trainees and act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks. Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard. Professionally operate the assigned service truck and maintain tool inventory per company requirements. Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures. Document damage to company equipment to estimate repair costs. Demonstrate proficiency with a cutting torch and welding equipment for mid‑level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment. Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs, ensuring all holes are sealed and water‑tight. Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA brake inspections and sign‑off. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 18years of age for equipment up to 10000lbs or 21years of age for equipment over 10000lbs with at least 3years of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experience. Clean motor vehicle record per J.B.Hunt guidelines. Own basic tools or access to the toolbox purchase program. Willingness to work outdoors, across multiple shifts including nights and weekends if needed. At least 1year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes. Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3years of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair (or equivalent). Welding certification. Forklift certification and experience. EPA Section608 certification and Refrigeration License. Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills. Proficient computer skills and comfortable using Microsoft Office. Physical ability to lift/move up to 50pounds. Ability to wear appropriate PPE and work attire. Compensation
The starting pay range is $27.05–$40.57 per hour. Payment may vary based on skills, experience, geography, and other qualifications. Eligible employees may receive annual bonuses and incentives per the company’s plans. Benefits
