The UKs number one electric golf trolley brand is growing its new product development team and needs a Product Design Engineer to own the work end-to-end. Basingstoke-based, £40,00045,000, 25 days' holiday. Concept to production, accessories to full trolley programmes. Small team. Your work ships and gets noticed.
The Role As a Product Design Engineer, you will take concepts from brief to production-ready design, covering accessories and contributing to the next major trolley programme. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role with real project ownership.
Design folding mechanisms, drive systems and product features in SolidWorks, from component level to full assembly. Take concepts through to production-ready designs, including tolerance analysis and DFM reviews. Create rendered concept images in KeyShot and produce graphics, packaging layouts and instruction artwork in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Build and test prototypes, run on-course trials, and carry out stress, fatigue and usability testing. Work with UK and Far East suppliers on tooling, samples and fit and form validation.
What We Are Looking For Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer, working on consumer products people actually buy. Solid SolidWorks skills from concept to production, with a portfolio that demonstrates the full journey. Working knowledge of injection moulding, metal forming, DFM, tolerance analysis and 2D production drawings. A background in consumer or electromechanical product development, with evidence of owning projects rather than supporting them. Decisive and committed: you back your design calls and push them through to production.

This is a small, growing engineering team inside a market-leading consumer hardware business. The Product Design Engineer joining now will be part of a group bringing new product development in-house and expanding it. The product has genuine technical depth: compact folding mechanisms, touchscreen GPS, remote control functionality, premium hardware that has to look and perform. You will see your work become real. Not every Product Design Engineer seat can say that.
