Job Title Staff Solution Sales Engineer - Confluent
Responsibilities
Drive early‑stage evaluation within the sales process and enable ongoing value‑realization for customers.
Partner with Account Executives to serve as the key technical advisor.
Surface customers’ business needs and design technical solutions that meet these needs.
Facilitate “art of the possible” discussions, storytelling, and solutioning to overcome technical roadblocks.
Act as a key cog within the Customer Success Team to foster sustained success and incremental adoption of Confluent’s technology.
What You Will Do
Advance new and innovative data streaming use‑cases from conception to Go‑Live.
Execute and lead Technical Proofs of Concept.
Conduct Discovery and Whiteboard sessions to develop new use‑cases.
Provide Thought Leadership through Technical Talks and Workshops.
Guide customers with hands‑on help and best practices to drive operational maturity of Confluent deployments.
Analyze customer consumption trends and identify optimization opportunities.
Work closely with Product and Engineering teams, serving as a key product advocate across the customer, partner, and industry ecosystem.
Forge strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and serve as a dependable partner.
Required Education
High School Diploma/GED.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Extensive experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a similar role.
Experience with event‑driven architecture, data integration and processing techniques, database and data warehouse technologies.
First‑hand exposure to cloud architecture, migrations, deployment, and application development.
Experience with automation, GitOps, and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in Java, Python, or SQL.
Technical certifications – Cloud Developer/Architect, Data Engineering & Integration.
Self‑starter behavior, eagerness to learn, and ability to tackle hard technical problems.
Exceptional presentation and communication capabilities.
Confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences ranging from developers to enterprise architects and up to C‑level executives.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Acquisition agreement knowledge and deep understanding of acquisition and integration agreements.
Experience managing technical transitions, guiding the process and identifying optimization opportunities.
Stakeholder relationship building to facilitate successful integration and seamless transition of technical capabilities.
