Working under the supervision of the Data Analyst 3, the Compliance Data Analyst will work closely with various teams that handle loan forgiveness and service agreement compliance programs, to conduct the conversion of financial education related data that will help inform business/policy decisions and be incorporated into various internal and external reports and publications.
Duties
Perform data extraction and aggregation from various sources and tables.
Compile, analyze, mine, parse and cleanse data on HESC program utilization, spending and compliance.
Review data for quality assurance.
Identify trends in data and identify risks in programs based on these trends.
Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources; assess data structures and how they can be used to produce desired reports.
Perform quantitative and/or qualitative data collection.
Contribute to the development of dashboards, reports, and publications.
Summarize results, interpret data, and communicate results to management and other stakeholders.
Compile other ad‑hoc data analysis based on current needs and executive management priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications: Six years of experience in data visualization, statistical models and data mining tools.
Substitution: An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of specialized experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; a master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field may substitute for five years of specialized experience; a J.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience performed in a school, school district, BOCES, education oversight agency, educational institution, education research institution, or other related research institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Some experience with SAS, SQL, R or Tableau is desired, but not necessary.
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Experience working with large datasets, confidential data, and relational databases.
Experience preparing reports.
