Job Description
As a Security Officer Armed Access Control Patrol in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed officer at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access activities with professionalism. In this role, you will deliver outstanding customer service and communication while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative team culture rooted in care, teamwork, and integrity.

- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, offices, data-sensitive areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, deliveries, and visitor activity in accordance with site instructions to help to deter unauthorized entry and support orderly site operations.
- Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and follow post orders regarding assigned equipment, patrol routes, and escalation procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- An armed guard card and/or license is required.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
