We are seeking a licensed attorney with either strong legal research skills or experience working in a law firm or legal department where you worked on transactional or litigation matters.
Key Projects & Work Examples
Reviewing legal documents (e.g., lease agreements, M&A agreements, motions, pleadings, etc.) within a document management system.
Distinguishing document types (e.g., Is this a lease agreement or an M&A agreement?) and applying consistent classification rules.
Identifying and labeling contract clauses (e.g., assignment, confidentiality, termination, indemnity, change-of-control).
Performing targeted legal research to validate classifications and support content accuracy.
Flagging gaps, inconsistencies, or ambiguous language and proposing improvements to guidelines and taxonomies.
Responsibilities
Analyze and classify legal content with precision, applying established editorial and classification standards.
Conduct focused legal research to determine controlling authority or best practices relevant to content review and tagging.
Perform quality assurance checks on newly added or updated content; document findings and recommend refinements.
Qualifications (Required)
J.D. (or LL.B./LL.M.) from an accredited law school.
Bar admission and good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
1+ years of post-qualification legal experience (law firm, in-house, or legal publishing/editorial).
Work Arrangemen Contract role; full-time hours
Requires reliable access to secure systems and adherence to confidentiality and data‑handling policies.
Success Indicators
High accuracy and consistency in document type and clause classification.
Timely delivery of assigned reviews and clear, actionable feedback contributing to quality assurance tasks.
Constructive collaboration to improve guidelines, taxonomies, and decision trees.
Demonstrated judgment on ambiguous content and strong written rationales for editorial decisions

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $40-$45hr USD.
