Position Purpose Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for delivering automated solutions for software processes, planning, coordinating, and tracking testing activities to ensure successful deployment of projects. The role supports clients, developers, and testers, provides knowledge transfer and training, participates in testing and post‑implementation reviews, and drives continuous improvement in QA processes. Responsibilities Identify opportunities to improve quality within software processes. Design and execute QA tests for databases, systems, networks, applications, hardware, and software. Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service, or business processes. Collaborate with other business units to understand business needs and ensure quality requirements are met. Support functional testing, enable key business processes, and perform analysis of the business environment. Serve continuous improvement of QA processes and standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or equivalent; or 7 years of related QA testing experience. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Professional systems or programming background; database technologies and SQL. Experience testing web, client‑server, infrastructure, business process, or mainframe applications. Experience with Microsoft TFS or Azure DevOps. Hands‑on support, mentoring, and working with junior team members. Experience leading multiple projects with distributed teams; mobile testing lead experience; automated testing experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Advanced data analysis and database/backend testing. Ability to analyze and solve logical problems. Knowledge of computing systems and application development process, including relational databases. Knowledge of test planning, test methodologies, and test data management. Licenses and Certifications Certifications in software quality or technical equivalent preferred. Accountabilities and Essential Functions Work on medium to complex cross‑functional project teams, often as a technical lead. Participate in work‑stream planning, including inception, design, development, testing, and delivery. Translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable solutions. Collect, analyze, and share data to drive business improvement; use database and other technologies for validation, test scripts, and automated testing. Design, develop, and test databases, data warehouses, queries, views, reports, and dashboards. Provide production support, troubleshoot tools, systems, software, and test data defects. Maintain quality of test repository and assist business to achieve testing goals. Design and deliver end‑user training and training materials. Coaching and mentoring of team members. Support process, policy, and standard adherence, ensuring enterprise QA standards. Document new and existing solutions and implementations. Monitor and report performance issues and improvements. Conduct research, evaluate vendor technologies, and recommend new releases and versions. Collaborate with vendors to stay current with technologies and pricing.
