What You'll Do
Drive new business development by identifying and pursuing prospects in target verticals (HVAC, industrial equipment, construction, OEM manufacturing).
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts, serving as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor.
Develop and execute territory sales plans with clear pipeline goals, activity metrics, and revenue targets.
Collaborate with estimating and engineering to produce competitive, accurate quotes that win jobs without leaving margin on the table.
Lead RFQ responses and manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract close.
Represent SMT Inc. at trade shows, industry events, and customer site visits.
Provide market intelligence on competitors, pricing trends, and emerging customer needs.
Report on pipeline, forecast, and sales activity to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
Requirements
5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in sheet metal fabrication, metal stamping, or a related manufacturing or industrial sector.
Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota in both new business and account management roles.
Strong technical aptitude - able to read basic drawings and understand fabrication processes well enough to have credible customer conversations.
Confident communicator and skilled negotiator at all levels, from shop floor buyers to C-suite decision-makers.
Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and standard business software.
Self-starter who can manage their own schedule, pipeline, and priorities without constant oversight.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred - equivalent experience considered.
