Position Summary CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the Staff Network Engineer position in Woonsocket, RI. The role involves implementing strategies and activities for building and maintaining networks, associated components, infrastructure, and services. Responsibilities include protecting sensitive data, maintaining operational integrity, ensuring compliance with network security standards, designing and developing network engineering strategies, coordinating with vendors and service providers, providing technical expertise, aligning network strategies with organizational goals, generating actionable insights on performance metrics, managing day‑to‑day operations of network engineering teams, consulting on projects from planning to execution, and developing overall network infrastructure strategy.
Hybrid Work Arrangement Remote work is permitted; candidates must live within commuting distance of the designated office and be available to report to the office as needed.
Qualifications Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Candidates must also have at least three years of experience in the following areas:
Configuring routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, static routing and policy‑based routing
Designing and implementing data center migration
Implementing Cisco ACI fabric, EPG, contracts and Layer 3 connectivity in datacenter
Implementing Cisco Nexus dashboards and network insights to monitor networks
Building Cisco ACI fabric and configuring Layer‑3, endpoint groups, switch profiles, contracts, and VRFs
Implementing software‑defined networking and network virtualization technologies
Integrating cloud services with software‑defined and networking technologies
Upgrading, installing, configuring and administering security and monitoring tools in Linux environments
Conducting patching and package installations in Linux/Unix environments
Generating root cause analysis (RCA) for critical industry problems at Layer 1/Layer 2/Layer 3
Providing redundancy to the network, implementing Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) and load sharing for effective router utilization
Configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting VTP, STP, trunking, and Ether channels
Capturing and troubleshooting network problems with Wireshark and identifying fixes
Implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting various routing protocols, including RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
Performing network monitoring and providing analysis using Wireshark and SolarWinds
Pay Range $172,370.00 per year to $260,590.00 per year. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. The position is eligible for bonuses, commissions or short‑term incentive programs and includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
