For over 30 years, we've provided evidence-based therapeutic foster care and behavioral health services to at-risk youth across North Carolina and South Carolina — specializing in serving children who have experienced trauma, loss, abuse, or neglect. Our approach is trauma-informed and relationship-focused, because we know that healing happens through connection.

When you join Pinnacle, you're not just joining an organization — you're joining a community of professionals who show up every day because they genuinely believe in this work.

Pinnacle Family Services is part of Health Connect America, a COA-accredited family of behavioral health brands serving children, families, and adults across nine states. That means you'll have the close-knit culture and mission focus of a team that's been doing this work for decades, backed by the resources, clinical infrastructure, and organizational support to help you do it well. Every program across our network shares the same commitment — compassionate, client-centered care that meets people where they are and walks alongside them toward something better.

Responsibilities:

If you're someone who believes that meaningful support happens where life is actually being lived — not just in an office — this role was built for you. As a Client Support Specialist at Pinnacle Family Services, you'll provide hands-on, community-based services that help children, adolescents, transition-age youth, adults, and families build skills, overcome barriers, and achieve their goals in everyday life.

What You'll Do

As a Client Support Specialist, you'll work directly with individuals and families in their homes and communities, helping them strengthen the skills and supports needed to thrive. Your work will be relationship-focused, strengths-based, and tailored to each person's unique needs and goals. Day to day, you can expect to:

    • Deliver individualized community-based support services in homes, schools, workplaces, and other community settings, helping individuals and families make progress toward their treatment and recovery goals.
    • Teach and reinforce coping strategies, emotional regulation techniques, interpersonal skills, independent living skills, and other practical tools that support success in daily life, education, employment, and community functioning.
    • Partner with individuals and families to implement Treatment Plans and Individualized Recovery Plans (IRPs), identify personal strengths, build resilience, and proactively address barriers that may impact progress.
    • Coordinate care and collaborate with therapists, healthcare providers, schools, employers, probation officers, family members, and other community partners to ensure comprehensive, person-centered support.
    • Connect individuals and families to community resources, housing supports, educational opportunities, employment services, healthcare providers, and other programs that promote long-term stability and well-being.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, monitor service utilization and treatment plan timelines, participate in quality improvement activities, and contribute to a culture of excellence in service delivery.
What to Expect

This is community-based work, which means you'll spend much of your time meeting with individuals and families in the environments where they live, learn, work, and interact. Every day looks a little different, offering variety, flexibility, and opportunities to make a direct impact in the lives of those you serve.

Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, effective communication, independent problem-solving, and a commitment to helping people achieve meaningful goals. You'll work collaboratively with a supportive team while also managing your own schedule and caseload in the community.

Making an Impact

As a Client Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals and families build confidence, strengthen independence, access critical resources, and move toward greater stability and well-being. Whether you're teaching practical life skills, supporting recovery goals, coordinating care, or helping someone navigate a challenging transition, your work creates opportunities for lasting, positive change.

At Pinnacle Family Services, you'll be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to improving lives, strengthening communities, and helping every individual reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

We welcome candidates who are passionate about helping individuals and families achieve meaningful goals and who meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in a Human Services field
  • Must meet qualifications as a Qualified Professional (QP) in North Carolina, with experience serving children and adolescents with a primary mental health diagnosis
  • Experience providing community-based, behavioral health, case management, or skill-building services is preferred
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in home and community settings
  • Must have a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and active vehicle insurance
  • Driving record must be in good standing and meet company requirements for community-based service delivery
