Job Description
Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer - Armed Part Time in West Palm Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $21.45 / Hour
Job Schedule:
DayTimeThur11:00 PM - 07:00 AMHow This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and/or credentials, manage visitor access, and document arrivals, departures, and other security-related activity in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters through appropriate channels when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, remaining aware of conditions that could impact authorized access or other security-related operations.
- Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or the public regarding entry requirements, restricted areas, and reporting procedures while helping to deter unauthorized access.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree, is required.
- An armed guard card and unarmed guard card is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
