Technician- Quality Assurance Lead- 1st Shift Location: Memphis, TN 38116, USA
Monitors key process control points during production operations. Documents and reports any food safety or quality issues so that corrective actions can be taken.
Responsibilities
Document and report any food safety or quality issues and participate in determination of corrective actions.
Assist with pre-operational inspection of production plant and equipment and complete related documentation.
Perform process verification checks at critical food safety and quality points according to the facility’s Food Safety Plan and Quality Plan.
Participate in determination of corrective actions when verification checks do not meet the limits defined in the Food Safety Plan and Quality Plan.
Verify the facility’s environment including temperature, sanitizer concentrations, and other food safety related conditions.
Complete hold tags and cooling tags to isolate non-conforming ingredients or products.
Conduct and document daily product review; evaluate key sensory attributes of finished products.
Maintain records, complete documentation, and follow proper documentation protocols as assigned.
Adhere to and monitor programs including HACCP, good manufacturing practices, foreign material control, plant sanitation, product quality assurance, and other assigned programs.
As part of monitoring CCPs, must be trained in HACCP and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).
Qualifications
Associate degree in a science related field or 1+ years in a Quality Assurance position or equivalent experience.
Basic knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety, and Safety requirements.
Ability to read, write, and speak in English at a proficiency level to understand food safety documentation and ingredient labels.
Basic computer skills; e‑mail, Word, Excel.
Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
Working Conditions
Food processing, warehouse, and food laboratory environment.
Environment may be wet or dry, temperatures ranging from 25°F to 110°F.
Required to stand and walk, climb ladders, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
