Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inside Sales & Marketing Manager to support the growth of XtalPi's Chemistry Services business across North America. Reporting closely to the Business Development leadership team, this role will be responsible for developing and executing inside sales and marketing initiatives that drive pipeline generation, strengthen customer engagement, and enhance XtalPi's market presence.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with excellent organizational and communication skills and has a passion for the life sciences industry. This individual will play a critical role in aligning marketing activities with business development objectives, optimizing sales processes, and supporting strategic growth initiatives in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute inside sales strategies to identify, engage, and qualify prospective customers within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agriscience, and CRO sectors.
Drive outbound prospecting efforts through LinkedIn, email campaigns, industry databases, conferences, and other targeted channels to generate high-quality sales opportunities.
Collaborate closely with Business Development Team to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and support territory planning initiatives.
Track prospect engagement activities and maintain accurate customer records and opportunity data within CRM systems.
Marketing & Brand Promotion
Lead the development and continuous enhancement of customer-facing marketing materials, including corporate presentations, service brochures, case studies, pitch decks, and conference collateral.
Partner with scientific teams to translate complex technical concepts into compelling, commercially relevant messaging tailored to diverse customer audiences.
Manage and coordinate digital marketing initiatives, including LinkedIn campaigns, email marketing programs, newsletters, and webinar promotions.
Ensure consistency of brand positioning and messaging across all marketing and sales communication channels.
Conference & Event Management
Plan and coordinate XtalPi's participation in industry conferences, trade shows, webinars, and customer engagement events throughout North America.
Manage event logistics, promotional activities, pre-event outreach campaigns, and post-event follow-up processes to maximize return on investment.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop event strategies that enhance brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
Sales Enablement & Operational Excellence
Lead the development and maintenance of sales enablement resources, including onboarding materials, training content, competitive intelligence, and best practice guides for Business Development teams.
Identify opportunities to improve sales workflows, reporting processes, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance team effectiveness.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to lead generation, campaign effectiveness, pipeline development, and customer engagement activities.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to Business Development leadership based on market trends and performance data.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and customer needs within the chemistry services landscape.
Collaborate with scientific, marketing, operations, and business teams across global offices to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment of commercial objectives.
Contribute to the development of customer success strategies that strengthen existing relationships and promote long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
3–7 years of experience in inside sales, scientific marketing, business development operations, customer success, or related commercial functions within the life sciences industry.
Demonstrated experience managing lead generation programs, marketing campaigns, conference activities, or sales enablement initiatives.
Strong interest in biotechnology, pharmaceutical R&D, AI-driven drug discovery, chemistry services, or contract research organizations (CROs).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both scientific and business stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Self-driven, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across geographically dispersed teams.
Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, marketing automation tools, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Prior experience within CROs, drug discovery services, chemistry services, or related life sciences sectors is strongly preferred.
