Database Administrator
for an exciting
remote
opportunity.
Job Description and Responsibilities Provides database administration support for enterprise systems supporting the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO). Responsible for administering and maintaining database environments including Oracle Database 19c (or higher) and Microsoft SQL Server (version 2014 or higher). Develops technical specifications and designs, develops, modifies, tests, and manages databases within DTMO's multi-tier architecture. Monitors database performance, implements optimization strategies, and performs database tuning to ensure reliability, efficiency, and availability of mission-critical systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge of enterprise database administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of relational database systems.
Knowledge of database platforms including Oracle Database 19c (or higher) and Microsoft SQL Server (version 2014 or higher).
Knowledge of database design, development, and management within multi-tier enterprise architectures.
Knowledge of database performance monitoring, optimization techniques, and database tuning to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
Knowledge of developing technical specifications, implementing database changes, and supporting mission-critical systems.

Candidate must communicate effectively with team members, team lead, management, and government customer.
Must have the ability and desire to research and develop creative solutions to unique problems with minimal supervision.
Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Five (5) years experience
Specific Experience with:
Oracle and Sql Server administration
Development & Maintenance of technical specifications, design, development, modification, testing, and management of databases in multi-tier architecture.
Structured Query Language Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Database clustering, mirroring, and replication
Interfaces with external data sources for data ingest
SQL tuning, data purging/scrub/refresh
Data security
Incident Management
Disaster recovery/COOP (including tests/exercises)
Experience with DoD Travel systems and DMDC also desired
Top Secret
Physical Requirements
Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
