About the Role

We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to support the growth of a leading international e-commerce marketplace across the German market.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying high-potential SMB and B2B sellers across key categories including Automotive Parts & Accessories, Fashion, Collectibles, Refurbished Products, and Live Commerce. Acting as the first point of contact for prospective sellers, you will focus on building a strong sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, industry events, and modern AI-powered sales tools.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Business Development

  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting activities via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Leverage AI-powered prospecting tools and self-generated leads to identify new business opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to build market presence and generate leads.

Lead Qualification & Discovery

  • Conduct discovery conversations with prospective sellers to assess business fit, commercial potential, product assortment, inventory depth, and readiness for marketplace expansion.
  • Qualify opportunities using structured sales methodologies and agreed qualification criteria.
  • Convert marketing and sales-generated leads into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).

Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions within the CRM system.
  • Ensure high levels of data quality and adherence to internal sales processes.
  • Manage pipeline progression and prioritize opportunities that align with strategic growth objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with onboarding and account management teams to ensure a smooth transition from qualification through activation.
  • Support sellers throughout the early stages of their marketplace journey to maximize successful onboarding.

Performance Delivery

  • Consistently achieve monthly targets related to pipeline generation, qualified opportunities, seller activation, and activity metrics.
  • Contribute to the overall growth strategy within the German market.

Required Qualifications

Sales Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, Inside Sales, or a similar outbound sales role.
  • Previous experience within e-commerce, digital marketplaces, SaaS, or technology-driven environments is highly desirable.

Language Skills

  • Native-level German.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.

Commercial Mindset

  • Proven ability to engage prospects through cold outreach and build relationships with decision-makers.
  • Comfortable handling objections and conducting qualification conversations.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven with a strong hunter mentality.

Location & Eligibility

  • Based in Germany.
  • Valid right to work in Germany.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with SMBs and online sellers.
  • Understanding of e-commerce, marketplace ecosystems, or cross-border trade.
  • Familiarity with modern sales technologies and CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Clay, or similar).
  • Existing network within relevant industries and participation in trade events is a plus.

  • Generation of qualified sales opportunities (SQLs)
  • Seller activation and successful onboarding outcomes
  • Consistent outbound activity levels, including calls, meetings, and prospect engagement
