Transportation Aide McHenry Community Consolidated School District 15 Vacancy Notice Job Title: Transportation Aide School: Transportation Department Reports To: Director of Transportation Terms of Employment: 174 Days Monday through Friday (20 hours) Start Date: ASAP Minimum Qualifications/Required Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent, previous experience preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Responsibilities/Duties Essential Job Functions:
Follows all established policies/procedures related to student transportation and bus safety, including emergency procedures related to bus evacuation. Demonstrates acceptance and empathy for students with disabilities. Monitors student behavior and collaborates with bus driver and school administrator regarding appropriate interventions. Assists with loading and unloading procedures. Ensures that student safety devices are properly secured and handled with care. Assists students with mobility needs. Maintains acceptable attendance and is punctual. Maintains strict adherence to student confidentiality. Demonstrates patience, consistency and uses appropriate verbal, non-verbal and good listening skills. Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents.
Pay and Benefits: $15/hour Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF Pension).
