TITLE: IT Project Manager II DEPT: Information Technology (IT) RPTS TO: Chief Information Officer HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, flexible
Job Overview The IT Project Manager (IT PM) is responsible for driving the successful planning, execution, and delivery of ERP enhancements and internal IT projects across the organization. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role ensures disciplined project governance, clear communication, and predictable delivery across multiple technology workstreams. The IT PM partners closely with business stakeholders, functional leads, technical teams, and vendors to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains an understanding of the overall IT and business landscape to ensure project execution aligns with Flavorchem’s current and future technology objectives.
Manages the day‑to‑day coordination, prioritization, and scheduling of ERP requests, service requests, and internal IT projects across available resources.
Oversees the structured intake, documentation, sizing, prioritization, and release planning for continuous improvement requests.
Leads discussions with stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify objectives, and translate needs into actionable project plans.
Facilitates cross‑functional planning sessions, ensuring alignment between functional teams, ERP functional leads, technical teams, and vendors.
Supports process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance system utilization, and improve end‑to‑end data integrity.
Coordinates testing cycles for enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and system changes, ensuring test plans, scripts, and results are properly documented.
Maintains project governance standards, including methodology, templates, RAID logs, communication plans, and performance criteria.
Develops and manages project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource plans.
Ensures change control compliance across all IT projects and changes.
Performs impact assessments for system changes, upgrades, and releases; coordinates testing and validation with end users.
Leads issue resolution and escalation management for project‑related risks, blockers, and incidents.
Provides project oversight, guidance, and support to team members involved in enhancement delivery or project execution.
Facilitates knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross‑team collaboration to ensure consistent project execution practices.
Stays current on project management best practices, ERP capabilities, and emerging technologies relevant to Flavorchem’s environment.
Identifies opportunities for automation, optimization, and improved project delivery efficiency.
Upholds the security and confidentiality of company data and project documentation.
Manages third‑party vendors involved in project delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Supports budget tracking for project‑related expenses and ensures alignment with IT financial plans.
Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization, translating technical concepts into clear, business‑friendly language.
Leads and/or participates in IT and cross‑functional projects as required.
Conducts root‑cause analysis for project‑related issues and coordinates corrective actions through completion.
Supports a 24/7 international manufacturing environment by coordinating project activities around production needs and participating in production support as required.
Partners with Infrastructure and Applications teams to ensure project environments, data refreshes, and system readiness activities are properly planned and executed.
Provides emergency support for critical project‑related issues, including coordination of diagnostic activities and vendor engagement.
Works independently with a high degree of ownership, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
Effectively prioritizes daily tasks, service requests, escalations, and project commitments.
Provides support outside normal business hours as needed to meet project deadlines or support critical activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Management, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
7+ years of IT project management or equivalent experience.
Experience leading complex, cross‑functional technology initiatives.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
Broad understanding of IT components including ERP, integrations, automation, data flows, and infrastructure dependencies.
Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proven ability to document business processes, requirements, and project artifacts.
Strong project/team management experience, including planning, resource coordination, and prioritization.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneDrive. Ability to create project documentation, dashboards, and communication materials using these tools.
Experience using Teams for project collaboration, meeting facilitation, file management, and cross‑functional communication.
Ability to leverage Excel for project tracking, reporting, and data analysis (filters, pivot tables, formulas).
Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum) preferred.
Experience with Deacom ERP preferred but not required.
Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Experience working with third‑party service providers and vendors.
Reliable, predictable attendance is required. Must be able to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
Primarily an in‑office position with some flexibility for remote work.
