Maintenance Director

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the upkeep and functionality of our skilled nursing facility. As a key member of our team, you will manage a team of maintenance professionals, ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

As a Maintenance Director at Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, you will be responsible for leading, training, and managing a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our skilled nursing facility. You will oversee and coordinate all facility maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and renovations.

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and manage the maintenance team, housekeeping department, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee and coordinate all facility maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
  • Ensure the facility adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards, building codes, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including purchasing supplies and equipment. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Respond to and manage emergency maintenance issues, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system failures.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance. Obtain and review bids, oversee contracts, and ensure quality of work.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare regular reports on facility conditions, maintenance issues, and budgetary matters.
  • Address maintenance-related concerns from residents and staff promptly and professionally. Ensure minimal disruption to residents' daily routines.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems. Ensure all tools and machinery are in good working order.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in maintenance management or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare facility is highly desirable. Basic knowledge of life safety code.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills. Proficiency in building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), safety regulations, and maintenance management software. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working in various conditions.

Salary: $21 - $24 HOURLY
