Job Title: Safety Coordinator Reports To: Safety Administrator FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary responsible for supporting the Safety Coordinator in maintaining a safe working environment by conducting routine safety inspections, assisting with employee safety training, tracking safety data, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and regulations, all under the guidance of the Safety Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions. Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and specific job-related safety training Assist in investigating workplace accidents and near misses, gathering information, identifying root causes, and recommending preventative measures. Assist in maintaining safety records and documentation, including incident reports, inspection reports, training attendance logs, and safety statistics. Ensure adherence to all applicable safety regulations and company safety policies. Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, ensuring employees are familiar with procedure
Required Skills and Qualifications
Basic understanding of occupational safety and health principles, regulations, and best practices. Ability to clearly communicate safety information to employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Meticulous ability to identify potential hazards and accurately document safety concerns. Efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize safety-related activities. Analyze safety incidents, identify root causes, and propose solutions. Collaborate effectively with other departments to promote a comprehensive safety program. Valid drivers License required Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education and Experience
High school diploma required. Prior experience in a safety role or related field is beneficial. Basic knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
