Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Ambulatory Patient Transporter, where your role is vital in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, and traction equipment between nursing units and ancillary departments. You will be responsible for using transport equipment properly, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining equipment operability through cleaning and minor repairs. Education and Certifications Must hold current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers and complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training, along with training on restraints, seclusion, and safety devices. Competency in handling flow meters on E-Cylinders is required. Experience At least one year of experience in patient transportation services is preferred, ideally within a hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to transport patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, bariatric, and geriatric populations, is essential. Requirements
Ability to safely discharge and transfer patients, maneuver wheelchairs and stretchers, including post-mortem transport. Capability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and assume awkward positions as needed. Strong customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, organizational flexibility, and interpersonal communication. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Speech, visual, and auditory acuity necessary for effective communication. Willingness to complete mandatory competencies within a 90-day probationary period.
This position involves contact with blood and other bodily fluids, requiring adherence to safety and infection control standards. The role supports a regional healthcare network serving a broad area in the Southeastern United States.
