Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Sr Data Engineer for their project based in Tallahassee, FL.
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Tallahassee, FL - Onsite
Duration: Longterm
Job Description
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in programming/systems analysis;
A minimum of six (6) months experience with Snowflake cloud-based data warehouse, Snowflake Snow Structured Query Language (SQL) and writing user defined functions;
Working experience in one or more modern Object-Oriented Programming languages (C#, Scala, Python);
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in workflow processes for analyzing and blending data, performing advanced analytics, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert and mentor for others;
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in data engineering and Change Data Capture (CDC) tools such as Oracle GoldenGate, Striim, or Kafka, deployed on-premises or Cloud platform (Azure or AWS);
Ability to build comprehensive dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop;
Ability to perform administrative and support activities across a multi-environment Tableau infrastructure including security administration, release management, troubleshooting, and general systems maintenance;
Hands‑on experience in cloud-based architecture, Azure or AWS;
Ability to write SQL queries against Snowflake, develop scripts (Unix, Python, etc.) to perform ETL, and provide production support for Data Warehouse issues such as data load problems or transformation/translation problems;
Ability to translate requirements for BI and reporting to database design, understand data transformation and translation requirements, and determine the appropriate tools to leverage;
Ability to understand data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipelines using cloud-based and on-premise technologies, actively test and clearly document implementations so others can easily understand the requirements, implementation, and test conditions;
Experience with Snowflake or data warehouse implementation;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience developing Extransfer Transfer Load (ETL), Extract Load Transfer (ELT), and data warehousing using Alteryx and Tableau;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in data modeling, and a 3‑5 year background developing SQL scripts and stored procedures that process data from databases;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience loading source system data extracts into a data warehouse;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience with batch job scheduling and identifying data/job dependencies, with strong understanding of various data formats such as comma-separated value (CSV), extensible markup language (XML), and JavaScript object notation (JSON);
This position will work closely with Scrum masters (project facilitators who manage the exchange of information between agile team members, architects, QA, DevOps, and multiple cross-functional teams);
Ability to understand end-to‑end data integration requirements and response-time SLAs to build data-driven solutions that provide best-in-class customer experience; strong understanding of incident and change management processes to support day‑to‑day production issues; experience working directly with technical and business teams;
Ability to coordinate root cause analysis efforts for permanent resolution of all incidents;
Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on issue resolution, working with the development team to understand new functionalities being deployed and ensuring all support readiness requirements are met;
Ability to adjust written and oral communications to a variety of audiences and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
