LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT This role is remote, however, the candidate(s) will be expected to relocate at their own expense to our onsite Houston location by Q1 in 2027. Q1 2027 is an approximate timeframe and is subject to change at any time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design end-to-end technical solutions for grid and energy platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Partner with engineering, product, and customer stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical architecture.
Define system architecture across cloud services, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
Guide implementation teams on best practices for cloud-native design, security, and integration patterns.
Support customer engagements, including technical discussions, solution design, and deployment planning.
Ensure alignment with reliability, observability, and performance standards in collaboration with SRE and QA teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture standards, documentation, and reusable design patterns.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, software engineering, or related technical roles.
Strong experience designing with Python & deploying cloud-based systems (Azure).
Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Strong communication skills with experience working cross-functionally and with external stakeholders.
Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD and cloud-native design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in energy systems, utilities, or infrastructure-related platforms.
Experience with customer-facing architecture or pre‑sales engineering.
Knowledge of observability, reliability, and SRE best practices.
Exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems or data-driven platforms.
Travel up to 10% or business needs.
The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
