Job Description Applications Engineers are trusted partners to our customers, providing technical support to troubleshoot existing products, enhance existing products, and support new product developments. Responsibilities Possess in‑depth knowledge of Amcor products and services and promote them to customers. Handle complex customer queries and provide detailed product information. Stay apprised of externally relevant technology changes and industry trends. Continuously learn and share knowledge to advance capability across the organization. Create and implement qualification and scale‑up protocols for growth and specification change actions. Build strong customer relationships, trust, and credibility by demonstrating a deep understanding of the customer’s industry and challenges. Provide expert guidance to solve the customer’s unique application issues in a timely manner, accelerating commercialization. Focus on customer new product introductions and specify Amcor solutions during early design stages. Reinforce Amcor’s quantified value proposition, driving sales growth and customer retention. Understand the customer’s operations better than they do to enhance the Amcor Value Proposition through activities such as process improvement and value engineering. Schedule and execute product performance and engineering audits to capture quantifiable value for the customer. Partner with appropriate stakeholders to ensure action and resolution to audit findings. Work in partnership with Sales to deliver timely, comprehensive solutions tailored to each customer and accelerate new sales growth. Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to provide actionable feedback on product performance for the customer’s unique applications. Collaborate with R&D to identify portfolio gaps, product enhancements, and new product ideas as well as competitive trends and continuous improvement opportunities. Participate in training sessions, trade shows, seminars, and account reviews. Qualifications & Skills Eagerness and ability to learn. Proactive, self‑starter. Strong organizational skills. Undergraduate degree in an engineering field required. Minimum 5 years technical experience in an engineering, manufacturing process or field technical role; flexible packaging and thermoforming experience preferred. Strong conceptual and analytical skills, attention to detail. Strong mechanical and technical ability and aptitude. Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent project management skills; ability to drive execution of plans. Professional appearance and attitude. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates leadership qualities and success working in cross‑functional environments. Operates effectively with people at all levels of the organization; builds and maintains relationships. Strong understanding of plant processes and practice. Minimum 50% travel. Compensation The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 and $122,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range of $98,000 to $147,000 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
