Position Summary Caremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Wellesley, MA: Sr. Data Engineer to develop, build, and manage large-scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) workflows to address complex problems and support business applications. The position offers telecommuting options and multiple openings.
Responsibilities
Develop large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for insights and reporting.
Write ETL processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing that improve existing systems and expand capabilities.
Collaborate with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
Test and maintain systems, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure high system reliability.
Leverage knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization to build data pipelines.
Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers.
Integrate data from a variety of sources and enforce data quality and accessibility standards.
Analyze current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities, recommending solutions to complex business problems.
Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
One (1) year of experience in each of the following: CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or DevOps; Java, Python, or R; XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript; Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles; JIRA, Rally, or Confluence; Spark, PySpark, Airflow, Kafka, or MySQL; SQL programming languages; and writing clean, high‑quality, high‑performing, scalable code.
Compensation Pay Range: $140,130.00/year to $222,480.00/year. This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above and includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
