Job Title: Cook Location: RWJUH Somerset Department Name: Dietary-Management Req #: Status: Hourly Shift: Evening Pay Range: $19.28 - $19.28 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Prepares all foods for patient and non-patient functions and meals assigned, Works various shifts under the direction of the chef, Follows daily production sheets routinely and records overages and underages after each meal service, Practices high levels of sanitation as instituted by the department, Maintains high standards in personal hygiene and safety, Qualifications: Preferred: Previous food service experience Scheduling Requirements : Shift working, 10:30a 7:00p each day Rotating Weekends PD Essential Functions: Prepares main entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner according to standardized recipes in forecasted amounts prior to start of room service, making sure that appearance, taste, and temperature are at acceptable levels, Follows proper HACCP food handling policies and procedures on a daily basis, All proper food temperature must be maintained, Works with food and supplies according to established guidelines, All food products are properly dated, wrapped and labeled daily, Keeps work area neat, clean and organized Shows a willingness to take on additional assignments and/or put in additional time when needed, Assists other department personnel in completing their assignments when possible, Understand the duties of other comparable positions in the department so that coverage can be maintained in emergency situations, Job routines are followed daily, Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior towards patients, visitors, supervisors, peers, and co-workers, Demonstrates schedule flexibility, Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job, Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice, Choosing RWJBarnabas Health!
