The Consumer Sales Representative‑Retail is a key contributor in TDS’s overall consumer strategy to grow, delight and retain our customers. Our motto is to grow revenue and achieve sales goals by providing exceptional customer service. This position handles customers that walk into our Retail stores as well as handles inbound customer calls when no customers are in the office. As the primary point of contact for consumer customers inquiring about products and services, this role takes ownership of thoroughly understanding the features and benefits of all the consumer products and services we offer. It also keeps current on all pricing, procedures, promotions, tools, and systems used to place orders, update billing, and maintain records of customer contacts.
In addition to base pay and an excellent benefits package, the Consumer Sales Representative‑Retail is assigned monthly sales goals established for key strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and strategic product sales. The representative must meet these goals and maintain customer service quality expectations for additional commission incentive programs.

Hourly rate: $18.19/hr. + uncapped commissions. Hit your goals and earn $60,000+ annually.
Hours: Monday‑Friday (with rotating Saturdays) 8:00AM – 5:00PM OR Tuesday‑Saturday 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Responsibilities
Deliver sales and retention results by providing exceptional customer service, meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals for strategic products through face‑to‑face and phone interactions. Use negotiation and communication skills to prevent churn and promote services that fulfill customer needs.
Handle billing, seasonal service, toll and other inquiries and offer customers missing or better‑value TDS product solutions.
Follow cash management procedures to assure accuracy in all cash and payment handling.
Resolve construction‑related issues in specific markets by creating and completing triage tickets.
Keep current with promotions, products and technology to exceed or meet sales and retention goals. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
Perform retail office responsibilities such as restocking supplies, unlocking/locking office, maintaining cleanliness, participating in community events, and coordinating with other departments.
Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
1+ year(s) experience in a sales or customer service role.
2+ years computer experience (e.g., order applications, Microsoft Outlook, Word, or Excel).
Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines.
Other Qualifications
6+ months experience in a fast‑paced environment managing multiple tasks and detailed data.
Ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills for reselling services to customers who are requesting disconnect.
Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls in a structured contact‑center environment.
Understanding of the telecommunications industry and products.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
Problem‑solving skills for customer complaints and competitive issues.
Successful completion of classroom training required.
Demonstrated success in competitive sales environment.
Able to work overtime with advance notice.
Ability to work shifts ending 8:00 pm CST with potential Saturday rotation.
Experience handling escalated customer issues and problem resolution both over phone and face‑to‑face.

Pay Transparency The listed pay range reflects the minimum and maximum base compensation for this position. The base pay rate offered is expected to be $18.19 per hour. Certain positions may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or equity awards.
Pay Range (Hr./Yr.) $17.66 /hr. – $26.48 /hr.
