Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and developing customized care plans Diagnosing and managing a variety of acute, chronic, and episodic conditions in partnership with supervising physicians or independently (as permitted by your credentials) Guiding patients and their families through educational resources on prevention, wellness, and the management of illnesses Prescribing medications and treatment protocols in alignment with your practice guidelines Engaging in patient follow-up and overseeing chronic care management Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive and seamless care experiences Maintaining accurate and complete documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) Education Requirements
Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Necessary Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner licensing in the state of Texas National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or appropriate specialty certification Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or obtainable within 90 days) Skills That Distinguish You
