Cybersecurity Engineer – AI Security / Application Security (US-Based, Remote) Our client, an innovative early‑stage technology startup, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to help shape and scale their go-to-market security strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑growing company at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity—working directly with founders and product teams to build secure, resilient systems from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation in cybersecurity and a strong understanding of modern startup environments. Experience with go‑to‑market security readiness, secure product design, and cross‑functional collaboration in fast‑moving tech companies is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect infrastructure, applications, and data.
Support GTM readiness by ensuring product and platform security align with compliance and customer requirements.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and code reviews to identify and remediate security gaps.
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and emerging threats.
Contribute to documentation, security playbooks, and awareness training across teams.
Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the company’s security posture.
Required Experience & Skills
3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related technical fields.
Strong understanding of network security, cloud infrastructure, and application security principles.
Familiarity with AI security or data protection frameworks is a plus (not required).
Hands‑on experience with common security tools and practices (SIEM, IAM, SAST/DAST, etc.).
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally in a startup environment.
US‑based; fully remote role with flexible hours.
