Construction Labor / Light Operator
Requirements:
Perform various physical duties assigned
Hang dig trenches, hand mix/place concrete, and set trench bracing.
Maintain all safety standards
Maintain a clean job site daily:
Pick-up all tools and equipment
Secure job site
Eliminate potential hazards
Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads building materials
Moves tools, equipment, or other material from place to place as directed.
Perform some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training
Assists other craft workers as needed (i.e. equipment operators, cement finishers, pipe layers).
Effectively use/operate a variety of hand tools such as hammers, picks, rakes and shovels and also power tools such as, jackhammers, torches, skill saws, pipe cutters, concrete mixer, water pumps, etc.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have experience in dirt work on commercial construction sites (i.e. pipe laying, skilled construction laborer etc.)
Team player with a positive attitude
Pass Pre-employment Assessments (includes BGC, MVR, drug test, & physical)
Punctual and reliable
Must have the following:
Valid driver's license and Reliable personal transportation to various jobsites anywhere from New Orleans Metro, Northshore, Southshore, Hammond etc.
TWIC card preferred
Steel toe work boots
The ability to work in all weather
The physical ability to complete strenuous tasks
The physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions
Pay Rate (Avg $17) Range is $16-$19
Average worker: will typically have additional skills including pipelaying skills, ability to assist carpentry crews through basic knowledge of handtools, trained in chop/chain saw operations, ability to assist a piling crew, etc.
Highly Skilled Worker: construction worker is skilled in all aspects, agressive, and performs some small equipment operation.
THIS IS A TEMP-TO-HIRE POSITION, YOU WOULD WORK THROUGH CABILDO STAFFING FOR 90 DAYS THEN THE CLIENT WILL CONSIDER FULL-TIME TAKEOVER WITH BENEFITS.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Experience:
Construction: 2 years (Required)
Commercial construction: 1 year (Required)
Skid steer loader: 1 year (Preferred)
Backhoe operation: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Driver's License (Required)
TWIC Card (Preferred)
