detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant
to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our growing global ministry. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience working in QuickBooks, and a heart for Christian ministry. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial excellence and stewarding donor resources with integrity. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations Maintain and manage the
general ledger and supporting schedules Process and manage
accounts payable and accounts receivableProcess p ayroll Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliationsFinancial ReportingExecute t Compliance & Nonprofit Reporting he monthly close process Prepare monthly financial statements Maintain accurate financial documentation and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Prepare documentation required for the annual audit Maintain financial records required for IRS Form 990 and ECFA reportingFinanci strong>al Systems Mission Fit Because Filter of Hope is a Christian ministry, this role is more than a job-it is an opportunity to help steward the resources God provides to reach families around the world with clean drinking water and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The person in this role should have a personal commitment to Christian faith and be enthusiastic about supporting the mission and spiritual impact of the organization. Qualifications Maintain and manage accounting records in QuickBooks Maintain organized digital financial files and supporting documentation
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles Experience using QuickBooks Strong Excel and financial reporting skills Highly detail-oriented and organized High integrity and commitment to financial accuracy Must fully support and be aligned with Filter of Hope's mission and statement of faith
Location Headquarters: 1400 Jack Warner Parkway Tuscaloosa, Alabama Candidates must live within 40 miles of Tuscaloosa.
