Assist patients directly or communicate their needs to appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean, well-stocked patient environment and ensure patient safety through proper equipment use. Retrieve patient care items from medication and supply rooms as needed. Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging. Engage in educational and performance improvement activities. Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency. Demonstrate responsibility in customer satisfaction and patient throughput. Education and Formal Training:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant certification mandatory. Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry. Experience:
No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong guest relations and communication skills. Ability to read and write English effectively. Flexibility in work tasks and schedules. Basic computer proficiency. Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work variable shifts including nights. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning. Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions. Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions. Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Current CNA certification and registry.
