What We Offer Join the Coastal Carolina Hospital ED team as an ED Tech! This position may be eligible for a Sign On Bonus! Location: Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center, 1000 Medical Center Dr., Hardeeville, South Carolina 29927 Shift: Days, 7am-7pm Status: Full Time Our Emergency Department is a 16-bed unit that specializes in providing immediate medical care for patients with severe or urgent illnesses or injuries. It is equipped to handle a wide range of services, including initial assessment, treatment, stabilization, emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions and potentially admission to the hospital.
Treats all types of emergent needs
Coordinates with other specialties
Ability to have autonomy on unit
What You'll Do
Obtain and record vital signs and report abnormal findings.
Monitor patient status and cardiac rhythms, alerting RNs to any acute changes in condition.
Stock and organize trauma bays and exam rooms with essential medical supplies.
A variety of basic patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Responsible for completing a variety of department specific tasks to assist with optimal department safety and functioning
What We're Looking For
Education : High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience : 1 year of Nurse Aide experience. Experience in basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG in an emergency or outpatient setting highly desirable, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Nurse Aide I, required. American Heart Association BLS required. Some departments have additional advanced CPR requirements as listed on staff annual education record, required. Phlebotomy Certification, required.
Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of medical terminology.
