Cooklist is the AI grocery‑intelligence platform powering meal planning and shopping for millions of consumers across our consumer app and white‑label enterprise suite. We're hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to own and elevate Cooklist's customer‑facing experiences both in our app and partner apps. You'll ship agentic shopping assistants and real‑time grocery workflows that Cooklist is powering for major US retailers. This is a high‑ownership role on a small, formidable team: you'll set architecture, shape the roadmap, and collaborate directly with the founders. We are an AI‑leveraged engineering org. Your mandate includes orchestrating AI coding assistants to multiply your output by designing patterns, tests, and guardrails so AI can safely write and refactor code. Our impact is magnified by treating the codebase as a system that makes itself faster to build. Responsibilities
Own our customer-facing web and mobile experiences end‑to‑end: architecture, performance, reliability, polish. Build and iterate agentic, real‑time experiences (GraphQL + WebSockets/streaming) for chat‑like shopping flows. Integrate with our Python backend and AI services; help shape schemas, contracts, and mobile data flows. Create repeatable patterns, component libraries, and testing strategies that enable AI‑assisted code generation. Drive quality: crash‑free sessions, startup time, memory, JS & native perf, offline states, error handling, analytics. Collaborate tightly with product/design; we ship first and refine fast, valuing both velocity and craftsmanship. Help define our roadmap and product bets; bring a founder's mindset to priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery. Qualifications
Senior‑plus React Native expertise. You've shipped serious React Native apps to millions (or comparable scale) and can go deep when needed: native modules/bridging, build pipelines (Xcode/Gradle), perf profiling, animations, and platform nuances. TypeScript/JavaScript fluency and modern mobile tooling expertise (CI/CD, test automation, release management). GraphQL in production (queries, mutations, pagination, caching) and comfort with real‑time streaming patterns. Full‑stack friendly. You're happy to jump into a Python backend when it unblocks the right mobile outcome. AI‑oriented builder. You use AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery. Prompt design, test‑first scaffolding, guardrails, and review flows that let AI contribute safely and at scale. Founder energy. High ownership, high bar for polish, gritty and persistent.
