Position Summary: The NJIT School of Art& Design is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classesin the Industrial Design program on an ongoing basis. Qualifiedapplicants not able to take on a class in a particular semester would continueto be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given thelearning objectives and requirements for each class assigned.
Essential Functions: Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty and administration on student progress throughout the semester.
Prerequisite Qualifications: Must possess a design-related Bachelor'sdegree from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree with appropriateindustry experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior teachingexperience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred. Dependingon the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience increative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on knowledge of coursetopics is desired (e.g., knowledge of CNC manufacturing and the ability toteach CAM, knowledge of arduino programming, marketing, UI/UX, use of digitalsoftware to produce and evaluate design work, etc.).
Bargaining Unit: AFT-UCAN
Salary Information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per credit hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
FLSA: Exempt Part-Time
