Part-Time General Surgeon New Orleans East Hospital (NOEH) | LCMC Health New Orleans, LA Position Overview New Orleans East Hospital (NOEH), a proud member of LCMC Health, is seeking a Part-Time General Surgeon (.5 FTE) to support the continued growth of surgical services and improve access to high-quality care in the New Orleans East community. This role represents a key investment in expanding essential surgical services and advancing our mission to ensure patients have access to exceptional, close-to-home care. The selected provider will play a vital role in strengthening the hospital's presence as the healthcare destination of choice for New Orleans East while building meaningful relationships within the community. Part-time (.5 FTE) opportunity Opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of surgical services Supportive health system with LCMC Health resources and infrastructure Collaborative practice environment Key Responsibilities Patient Care
Provide comprehensive general surgical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters Respond to patient calls, messages, and follow-up needs Identify emergency situations and respond in accordance with hospital protocols Recognize and report signs of abuse or neglect per organizational policy Patient Access & Coverage
Participate in a shared, equitable call schedule Maintain clinic and surgical scheduling availability aligned with access standards Safety & Quality
Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Ensure patient safety through compliance with hospital policies and best practices Maintain a clean, safe clinical and surgical environment Participate in quality improvement initiatives Leadership (if applicable)
Support provider alignment with patient care and access expectations Collaborate with hospital leadership on operational and clinical initiatives Assist in provider performance reviews and scheduling coordination Qualifications Education
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Training
Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program Licensure & Certifications
