Job DescriptionLife doesn't always follow a fixed schedule. That's why we created the Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Enhanced Part Time in Manassas, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $27.31 / Hour
Job Schedule:
DayTimeSat05:00 AM - 05:00 PMHow This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns according to site protocols.
- Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal standards, applicable laws, and site requirements, including carrying authorized equipment and completing detailed activity and incident reports.
Minimum Requirements:
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
