Applications Development Senior Analyst Job Overview The work will be developing strategic, state‑of‑the‑art solutions using agile methodologies, micro services, and integration with many applications and services. The senior analyst is responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective is to lead application systems analysis and programming activities, and to build a cross‑functional team that delivers innovative, best‑in‑class products and services to our global clients.
Responsibilities
Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions and identify necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
Resolve high‑impact problems and projects through in‑depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architectural blueprint.
Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
Provide in‑depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
Evaluate and build POCs for new strategic initiatives and work to convert them to enterprise solutions.
Take initiative to research, learn, and recommend emerging technologies.
Provide post‑release assistance to business, development, and support groups.
Serve as advisor or coach to mid‑level DevOps and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
Assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets while driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Agile and DevOps, including ALM, SCM, and TEM; familiarity with GitHub/Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tekton, uDeploy, Harness, App Insight, and similar tools in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of micro‑services, container‑based architecture, and deployment tools; programming experience with Java, Python, shell scripting, and OOP concepts.
Experience with observability frameworks and tools such as ELK, AppD, Splunk, Prometheus, Jaeger, and Grafana.
Experience with CI/CD for cloud (ECS) and on‑premises environments, and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with build and security scan tools such as Maven, Ant, SonarQube, BlackDuck, and CyberArk.
Experience with artifact repositories and collaboration wikis such as CodeStation, Confluence, Artifactory, and Nexus.
8+ years of DevOps experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments, including command, bash scripting, and administration of common services.
Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts, infrastructure‑as‑a‑code, and cloud‑based security practices.
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated experience as a Site Reliability/Observability Engineer or DevDataOps Engineer.
Ability to guide development and business teams on operational concerns.
Experience managing and maintaining load balancers, proxies, webservers, queues, and caches.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to apply technical skills and knowledge of the Rates business to develop creative solutions.
Responsible, agile, and collaborative team worker.
Ability to build strong relationships, influencing peers and business partners.
Self‑motivated, organized, and determined to achieve goals; works autonomously when required.
Ability to interact with all business users (traders, financial controllers, risk managers, etc.).
Understanding of financial derivatives (rates) or willingness to learn about this area.
Flexibility to work with a global team across geographies and time zones.
Education Strong academic record, ideally with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical/quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
