What does the role look like? As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be part of a world-class international team from a wide variety of backgrounds. At Acturis, Technical Business Analysts help our clients understand the possibilities within the system and gather client requirements in order to turn them into detailed, unambiguous and accurate specifications for a development team. The Downloads team main mission is creating efficiencies for our customers by facilitating the automated download of key information from third party systems. Your day may involve: Designing and implementing top quality new software solutions
Solving challenging technical problems using a structured and logical approach
Managing the build of sometimes complex implementations, and ensuring this is done to specification
Investigation of errors on the Live system to work out the root cause and proposing solutions to fix this
Continuously monitoring and improving all aspects of the Acturis System
Supporting the sales team by contributing to client proposals including presenting and demonstrating technical solutions to clients
On the Documents team, you can expect to work directly with client s to gather their requirements for their customer-communications ("documents") suite on Acturis and support them in using the standard Application functionality to achieve this. Your day may involve: Supporting clients in understanding the system and corresponding documents capabilities
Working with clients and other teams to scope requirements and design solutions
Writing detailed specifications for new documents features and working with developers whilst these are implemented
Completing in-depth testing for internal development and providing support for client testing
As part of our Personal Lines and International Programs your day may involve: Work in a team focused on insurance product implementations
Help our Canadian clients understand the options and possibilities for how they can use the highly configurable and complex Acturis System
Design and implement top quality new software solutions
Gather client requirements and turn these into detailed, unambiguous and accurate specifications
Manage the build of sometimes complex implementations, and ensure this is done to specification
Continuously monitor and improve all aspects of the Acturis System
You can expect to be working in a fast paced and highly varied environment amongst friendly and supportive colleagues. The annual salary for this position is $57,150.00 and increases to $60,750.00 after probation. Training Acturis believes that a mix of internal and external training allows colleagues to develop rounded skills: New joiners receive concentrated initial training and close mentoring
Colleagues are encouraged to complete industry standard training in relevant topics
More senior colleagues can choose courses with time set aside and the course paid for
Candidate Profile The successful candidates will have following attributes: Degree from a Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree
Experience providing excellent customer service and confidence in relationship building skills
Clear and concise written and oral communication
Continuous learner who is eager to take responsibility
Strong organizational skills; demonstrated experience with keeping to deadlines
Creative problem solver who follows logical and practical processes
Values teamwork and strives to collaborate well with others
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with learning new technology quickly
An aptitude for applying technology and structured problem solving
A track record of delivering on projects and an ability to carry tasks through to completion
Demonstrated interest in and experience of using IT and software
The following attributes are highly appreciated but not required: Science, Math, and Engineering background
Fluent or Proficient in French
