Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Develops and executes a business plan and sales strategy (Account Planning) for the market that ensures the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Ensures that Sellers meet or exceed activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes (KPI Management).
- Responsible for the performance and development of the Sellers.
- Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
- Sets examples for Sellers in personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Mentors and coaches, the team to build motivation and selling skills.
- Maintains contact with key clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
- Initiates and coordinates the development of an action plan to penetrate new markets.
- Conducts one-on-one reviews with Sellers to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for improving sales and activity performance.
- Prepare sales forecast and activity reports for management.
- Provides and maintains accurate records of pricing, sales, activity reports, and proposals submitted by Sellers.
- Creates and conducts proposal presentations, RFP responses, and monthly sales meetings.
- Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Seven (7+) years of sales experience within the HVAC and/or Building Automation industry.
- Associate's degree in business administration or a related field (or equivalent experience) required; B.A./B.S. preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish and articulate the distinct value of services and products.
- Demonstrated experience developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
- Strong understanding of competitive positioning and how to effectively position offerings against competitors.
- Prior sales leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficient PC skills, including Excel, Word, Dynamics, and PowerPoint, Smartsheet's
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.
- Highly collaborative, action-oriented, and strong problem-solving mindset.
