We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a busy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect materials and services, supplier management, and ensuring continuity of supply to support production requirements.
While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier relationships, RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
- Expedite orders and resolve supplier issues, non-conformances, and returns.
- Source new suppliers and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support dual-sourcing strategies to reduce supply risk.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system.
- Monitor supplier performance and communicate potential supply risks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' purchasing experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
