Digital Content & Multimedia Manager is responsible for the city’s digital communications ecosystem and serves as the lead creator, strategist and manager of content across digital platforms. The manager works with considerable initiative and independence within established policies and procedures. This position develops engaging multimedia content that informs residents, strengthens community pride, supports organizational goals and enhances public understanding of city initiatives. In addition, this position manages social media, website content, video production, digital storytelling, e-newsletters, photography, analytics and campaign development. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Communications Director.
This position is exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will not apply.
Per Florida Statute 295.065, certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, receive preference and priority, and that certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.
Organizes and develops channel-specific communication plans and content strategies.
Manages the city’s social media presence across all platforms.
Manages and maintains content calendars and publishing schedules and coordinates with all city departments.
Produces written, visual, photographic and video content.
Leads strategic storytelling initiatives that promote the city’s mission, services, and community impact.
Develops stories highlighting residents, businesses, city projects and community achievements.
Manages and evaluates the city’s brand standards, maintaining consistency across all materials and makes recommendations to management.
Creates content supporting the city’s “Choice of Champions” brand platform.
Manages the creation of graphics, publications, and digital assets, and designs graphic elements.
Evaluates, maintains and updates the city’s website content.
Ensures all internal and external messaging is accurate, current, accessible, and user-friendly.
Improves digital storytelling and user experience.
Captures and edits photography and video.
Produces short-form and long-form digital content.
Supports livestreams, presentations and digital campaigns.
Monitors, tracks, and analyzes communications performance metrics, engagement trends, and audience behavior to evaluate effectiveness, make recommendations, and provides regular reporting.
Maintains consistency in tone, voice, visual identity and messaging.
Attends training, seminars, and conferences as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media or related field.
Five (5) years of digital communications experience.
Strong skills in social media strategy, video production, photography, website management and content development.
Experience using content management systems, social media management tools and analytics platforms.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field.
Physical Demands
Performs continual light work and occasional heavier work
Requires frequent walking and standing, climbing, stooping, reaching, bending, good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination, good eyesight including color perception, hearing, and speech
Involves regular driving of vehicle
Work Environment Works inside in an environmentally controlled space; but will occasionally work in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, bright/dim lights, dust or pollen, and traffic) for moderate periods of time during outdoor assignments.
