Position Overview The Senior Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for the advanced administration, optimization, governance support, and operational leadership of Rumpke’s Salesforce platform. This role serves as a senior‑level technical administrator supporting a rapidly evolving enterprise Salesforce environment across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Revenue functions.
Responsibilities
Lead administration and governance of user access, profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing/security models in alignment with enterprise security standards.
Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable declarative Salesforce solutions.
Review and validate configuration changes to ensure alignment with architecture standards, naming conventions, technical debt reduction strategies, and platform scalability goals.
Document and execute configuration changes and support activities in accordance with IT change‑control and governance processes.
Mentor and train junior Salesforce System Administrators, act as platform SME, and own medium‑to‑high complexity platform enhancements.
Support Salesforce release management processes, including deployment coordination, regression testing, sandbox management, and production validation activities, lead release readiness activities, and perform enterprise impact analysis/risk assessments.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform defects, integration issues, automation failures, and user‑impacting incidents.
Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, configuration standards, operational procedures, KPIs, and knowledge base articles.
Develop and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and reporting structures to improve operational visibility and executive reporting.
Design and implement advanced flows, security models, automated frameworks, dynamic forms/pages, complex validation logic/rules, assignment logic, and approval processes.
Configure and maintain Salesforce metadata, including custom fields, objects, record types, page layouts, and list views, to support approved and evolving business processes.
Participate in CAB and ARB processes and enforce configuration and documentation standards.
Lead data quality initiatives, review configurations for best practices, define reporting standards and dashboard strategies, and identify platform risks.
Administer user access, including user setup, updates, deactivation, roles, profiles, and permission sets, in alignment with security and governance standards.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including reassignment of record ownership for users who leave the organization.
Partner with Salesforce implementation vendors and internal IT teams to resolve configuration defects and support enhancements.
Serve as the primary day‑to‑day administrator for a live and expanding Salesforce environment, providing advanced (Tier3) support.
Supervisory Responsibility This position will not manage employees.
Skills & Abilities
User and access management (profiles, roles, permission sets)
Salesforce configuration (fields, objects, page layouts, record types)
Declarative automation using Salesforce Flows and validation rules
Report and dashboard creation, including custom report types
Troubleshooting and resolving configuration‑related defects
Ability to document changes and follow change‑control processes
Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and implementation partners
Ability to scope and estimate changes (hours of work, days to build/test/deploy) and maintain backlog
Ability to work with business stakeholders to prioritize work and backlog
Ability to provide at least two references for organizations you have administered
Experience & Knowledge
8+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator in a production environment
Experience supporting a live Salesforce org, including post‑go‑live support
Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM concepts across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations
Experience participating in Salesforce release cycles and change management
Basic familiarity with ERP/Financial systems and with Field Services Operations
Salesforce Administrator training (Trailhead or equivalent)
Salesforce Flow (Visual Flow) fundamentals training and Salesforce reporting and dashboard training
Physical Requirements

Additional Working Conditions
Must be at least 19 years of age
Ability to travel between offices, as required
Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
Must be available for 24‑hour emergency calls
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing
Must be able to read and speak the English language
Education
Associates or better in Relevant field.
High School or better.
Bachelors or better in Relevant field (Preferred).
General Education Diploma or better (Preferred).
