This is a key role in the management of the animal slaughter operation, and is effectively the site number two position.
The Site Quality Lead is a part of the site management team, working in conjunction with the operations team to deliver the site production requirements, focussing on food safety and quality.
The site operates under Department of Agriculture regulations and so needs to maintain strong controls and processes.
The successful candidate will have experience of animal slaughter and food production processes, and ideally a science qualification.
In addition to their quality/ technical experience the candidate will have an interest in operations and supporting a business operation.
Key Responsibilities: Food Safety & Quality Management System Management of animal slaughter and meat processing Compliance with regulatory standards, legislation and liaising with DAFF officials.
Corrective & Preventative Action & Non-Conforming Product Management Raw material and stock controls Measuring adherence to customer specifications.
Liaison with customers, customer complaint management Implementation of measures and control procedures.
Carrying out system self-assessment and working with customers and the Department during audits.
The achievement and maintenance of the BRC standard and the Bord Bia PQAS, in terms of an independent third party accreditation.
Management representative for Bord Bia PQAS.
Implementation and maintenance of HACCP & hygiene requirements.
HACCP Team Leader.
Management of laboratory activities.
Management of sanitation & cleaning.

Maintain standards as set out by the company in relation to quality, yields and specification Health & Safety management Coordination and recording of training, including staff induction Communicate problems promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution Ensure the company Environmental Policy is adhered to Co-ordinate technical and maintenance suppliers/contractors to ensure standards are maintained.
Participate in continuous improvement activities (Lean Management) Management of staff in support of the Site Manager Skills: quality manager food fmcg meat
