Purchasing Consultant

Early-career sales professional responsible for generating new business and supporting growth within a defined, lower-complexity territory. Focuses on building foundational sales capabilities and managing smaller-scale clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business growth by aggressively prospecting, cold calling, networking, and building high-value relationships within assigned territory.
  • Expand and retain a managed book of business by dedicating the majority of effort (70%) to deepening member engagement and increasing account penetration.
  • Maximize field impact by maintaining a high level of in-person engagement, with the majority of time (90%) spent actively selling and prospecting in the field.
  • Execute a targeted territory strategy that accelerates market share growth through defined tactics, measurable activities, and resource alignment.
  • Represent the organization in market-facing events by actively participating in state-affiliated trade shows and industry engagements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with members and vendors to establish trust, loyalty, and long-term business partnerships.
  • Own financial performance by managing business activity with a P&L mindset and accountability for results.
  • Deliver consultative sales solutions by applying needs-based selling to craft tailored, value-driven outcomes for each prospect and member.
  • Demonstrate market intelligence through continuous research on prospects, industries, and competitors to strengthen positioning.
  • Operate independently and effectively within a home-office environment while managing schedule and productivity.
  • Leverage technology to drive results by maintaining accurate pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce and utilizing analytics tools (SIGMA, MosAIc) to inform decisions.
  • Ensure operational excellence by managing expenses responsibly through Concur and maintaining readiness for daily travel requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 13 years of outside B2B sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets.
  • Foundational consultative selling skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Benefits:

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $60,000.00-$66,000.00 plus a competitive commission package.
