Overview:

Customer Service & Sales:

Greeting and assisting customers: Welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and helping them find what they're looking for.

Product knowledge: Being knowledgeable about the products in the store and providing helpful recommendations.

Handling customer inquiries: Answering questions and addressing concerns.

Processing sales transactions: Operating a cash register, scanning merchandise, and handling payments.

Suggestive selling: Encouraging customers to purchase additional items or services.

Store Maintenance & Operations:

Stocking shelves and maintaining displays: Ensuring that products are well-stocked and organized.

Keeping the store clean and tidy: Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and stockroom.

Assisting with merchandise resets: Helping to implement changes to the layout of the store.

Assisting with special orders: Processing special orders and ensuring they are delivered on time.

Performing tasks in service areas: Assisting with tasks like key cutting, paint mixing, and make creating hydraulic hoses.

Participating in store meetings: Staying informed about store policies and procedures.

Learning Opportunities: Working at a hardware store can provide opportunities to learn about various trades and skills, such as plumbing, electrical work, gardening, and more.

All other tasks as needed and assigned due to business needs.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Effective communication skills to support overall sales floor needs and customer inquiries and perform other duties as assigned

Previous warehouse experience preferred

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds

Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
