Responsibilities Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. Understands all the different systems that are monitored in the help desk and the Tier level responsibilities for the systems. Provides IT Service Management functions and first level troubleshooting to all customers. Uses procedures to perform identification, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of failures and restore system capability to operations. Analyzes, diagnoses, and isolates failures to hardware. Directly replaces or coordinates replacement of hardware failures. Collects data for proper escalation and resolution by Tier 2/3. Performs network management services including monitoring network device health and status, monitoring network performance and utilization optimization. Performs OS monitoring, Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) software monitoring, custom software monitoring, resource memory allocation, etc. Performs modifications to authorized user lists, user profiles, and file system maintenance. Understands all ITSM processes and documents work accurately and effectively through the use of a ticketing system. Performs visual inspections of hardware and documents/report all findings. Understands the Program Service Level Agreements (SLA) to ensure proper completion of work within timelines. Manages account requests and provides account management responsibilities for personnel on numerous systems. Keeps track of all functional leads and technicians for all the managed systems by the program. Understands local site command and hierarchy and knows POC's for systems that the Program does not have responsibility for. Interfaces with customers and government officials. Participates in special projects as required. Qualifications Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, with 1+ years of experience in a technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training. 1+ years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis. UNIX/Linux System Administration preferred. Windows System Administration preferred. Shift work on a Panama Schedule (12 hours/day for a total of 7 days over a 2 week period). Valid DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-Security. Security+ CE preferred. Must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six months of hire date. Granted privileged user access. Privileged Users must adhere to security procedures with zero tolerance for violations. Must hold a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
