Creek Technologies is seeking a Technical IT Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and enhance information technology (IT) initiatives from concept through execution. This role combines project management, IT governance, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio management to ensure technology initiatives are strategically planned, effectively executed, and continuously improved.
The ideal candidate is an organized, collaborative leader with experience managing technical projects, facilitating governance processes, driving process improvements, and communicating effectively with technical teams, executive leadership, and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management Lead IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and project documentation. Coordinate activities across cross-functional technical teams, government stakeholders, contractors, and executive leadership. Monitor project performance, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and performance metrics while proactively managing risks, issues, and changes. Facilitate project kickoff meetings, planning sessions, technical reviews, status meetings, and executive briefings. Track project performance and recommend improvements to enhance execution and delivery. IT Governance, Portfolio & Process Management
Manage the AFWERX Technology Initiative Request (TIR) process, including supporting workflows, forms, SharePoint resources, and governance documentation. Facilitate Digital Review Boards (DRBs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and other IT governance forums. Coordinate reviews of customer IT requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and develop business cases supporting new technology initiatives. Prioritize technology requests while ensuring documentation, approvals, traceability, and governance compliance throughout the TIR lifecycle. Recommend and implement approved improvements to governance processes, workflows, dashboards, reporting capabilities, and portfolio management practices. Develop and maintain IT governance artifacts, technology roadmaps, configuration management records, and portfolio documentation. Track governance decisions, action items, approvals, and implementation milestones using JIRA and related project management tools. Schedule and coordinate governance meetings, executive reviews, and stakeholder engagement sessions. Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Prepare executive presentations, dashboards, reports, and briefing materials for leadership, program managers, technical teams, and government stakeholders. Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, recommendations, and governance decisions to stakeholders at all organizational levels. Develop meaningful performance metrics and success measures to evaluate project execution, governance effectiveness, and organizational performance. Foster collaboration between technical teams, customers, and leadership to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Documentation & Collaboration Tools
Maintain project documentation, governance records, technical reports, meeting minutes, action items, and configuration-controlled artifacts. Administer and support collaboration platforms including SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI), and JIRA. Support workflow automation, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives that improve operational efficiency and project visibility. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing IT, software, systems, or technical projects. Strong understanding of project management methodologies and the full project lifecycle. Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating technical and business stakeholders. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience using project management and scheduling tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft collaboration technologies. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and effectively within a distributed team environment. Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience supporting AFWERX, the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, or other Federal Government organizations. Experience facilitating Digital Review Boards (DRBs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), or similar governance processes. Experience administering SharePoint environments and workflow automation. Familiarity with SaaS platforms, cloud-based collaboration tools, Agile methodologies, and Microsoft Power Platform. Experience using JIRA for project planning, issue tracking, reporting, and milestone management. Experience implementing business process improvements and organizational workflow optimization. Work Environment
Telework eligible. Occasional travel or on-site support may be required based on customer or program needs.
