Tier III Senior Network Engineer – MacDill AFB, FL Leidos is recruiting a highly motivated Tier III Senior Network Engineer to support the Global Solutions Management‑Operations II (GSM‑O II) and Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) at MacDill AFB, FL. In this role you will be responsible for new capability requirements and design, system assessments, and hands‑on engineering support.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier III routing and switching support with hands‑on experience designing, testing, and implementing IGP, EGP, MPLS, VRF, and NFV/Service Chaining on an enterprise network to meet security, performance, operational, and functional requirements.
Ensure proper routing protocols are applied to optimize end‑to‑end network performance across LAN, WAN, CAN, SAN, and data center environments.
Assist the government customer with identifying design objectives, technical specifications, performance requirements, and interoperability specifications to ensure end‑to‑end stakeholder requirements are met.
Ensure system design adheres to industry standards, DOD standards, policies, instructions, directives, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices.
Develop presentations to stakeholders articulating gaps, requirements, objectives, functional and solution architecture.
Develop, review, and update briefings, papers, and spreadsheets to meet customer requirements.
Provide analysis of how operational, functional, and performance requirements will be met as part of system design, test, and implementation of initial capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+).
CCNP Enterprise certification.
Education: BS degree with 4‑8 years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2‑6 years of relevant experience. Specific experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Secret clearance.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $73,450.00 – $132,775.00. Compensation is very competitive and includes a robust rewards and recognition program.
